Oarsman L530 Original adhesive. Solvent-based plastic adhesive, toluene-free. Crystal-clear adhesive for bonding a wide variety of plastics such as PS, PSB, SAN, ABS, celluloid, Plexiglas, PVC hard with each other and with glass, ceramics, wood, etc. Not suitable for PE, PP, PET, POM, EPDM or Teflon. Adhesive surfaces must be clean, dry and free of oil. Apply adhesive to the material and bond immediately when wet. Fix sufficiently until cured.
Area of application:
For small-area bonding of plastics such as ABS, PS, SAN, SB, PVC-hard, PMMA, celluloid with each other as well as with other materials such as ceramics, wood, paper, cardboard, textiles, etc.
Instructions for use:
The surfaces to be bonded must be dry and clean, especially free from oil, grease or release agents. Temper plastic parts with internal stresses before bonding to avoid stress cracks.
For very small parts, one-sided application of adhesive is sufficient; for somewhat larger surfaces, double-sided application is recommended to ensure reliable wetting of both sides. Apply two coats to highly absorbent materials (allow the first coat to dry).
The parts must be joined as soon as possible after adhesive application, while the adhesive is still wet, to ensure sufficient wetting of both adhesive surfaces. They must then be held under fixing pressure until further processing strength is achieved. The necessary fixing time is highly dependent on the type and design of the parts to be joined, so that it must be determined on a case-by-case basis. If the parts are not under tension, 5 - 10 minutes are usually sufficient. Final strength is achieved after a few days.
